ESL EXOS objectives
- Offering interesting, enjoyable and useful interactive exercises for people learning English.
- Showing teachers that you don’t have to be an IT expert to make professional, interactive exercises with Hot Potatoes and TexToys.
- Demonstrating that discovery-learning exercises are quite different from “tests” and “quizzes”.
- Passing on to other teachers what I learnt from Caleb Gattegno and the Silent Way.
Though I have to admit I just have great fun making the exercises – whether they’re useful to anyone else or not.
If you would like to put these exercises on a password protected LMS (that is, a Learning Management System such as Moodle) to be able to track your students’ progress, you just have to ask: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you subscribe to my Twitter account: @ you will be informed when new exercises are added.
I was an English as a foreign language teacher at the Centre de linguistique appliquée, Université de Franche-Comté, France 1977-2010. While I was working at the CLA, I created English Online France, a site of resources for people learning English and their teachers. I’m retired now.
